Beauty and Truth

Just as every lie is tied to Truth, so I also believe that, somehow, every thing of beauty is connected to Truth, and every ugly thing to a lie. In this way, even ugliness is allowed its own backwards sort of beauty in so far as it speaks about the truth that it attempts to conceal.

According to this, it is perhaps only through his aesthetic sensibilities that the natural man is able to connect to Truth - that is, apart from the special revelation of God.
